Holotropic Breathwork -autumn retreat @ Hub Feenix

2023-09-29

Welcome to dive deep within in this full board retreat at Hub Feenix! Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful method of self-exploration, which helps us to connect more deeply with our inner healing wisdom. During the retreat you can surrender to your inner process with your own pace and style in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space. On Friday we will land softly to the venue, meet the group and prepare for the inner journeys. On Saturday there will be two breathing sessions, in which each participant will be breathing in one session and sitting for the breather-partner in one. On Sunday we will have proper time for the integration-process.

Retreat takes place in the Hub Feenix, in a former sanatorium close to beautiful nature in Raasepori (www.hubfeenix.fi, Högbenintie 30, 10350 Meltola). There is one hour drive from Helsinki and 1.5 hour drive from Turku, and you can reach the venue by coming to Karjaa by bus or train, where we can pick you up. Accommodation happens in two person rooms. With extra cost (40€) you can get a private room. Tasty vegetarian food is included in the price. We also have a sauna close to a lake.

No previous experience of Holotropic Breathwork is required. We will use english and/or finnish languages, depending on the language of the participants. Translation is provided if needed.

Facilitators of the retreat

Valde Orrenmaa
Valde lives in Kaarina, in a commune with his friends and cats. He started the Holotropic Breathwork training in 2016 and got certified in 2019, and has been organizing breathwork events from 2018. Valde has a lot of appreciation and passion for this method, it has deepened his own path in very meaningful ways and has teached him to value deeply non-judging, supportive and empowering space for inner growth. He has a masters degree in comparative religion and has been academically and practically interested in non-ordinary states of consciousness, meditation, psychedelics, buddhism and other mystically oriented branches of religions. He is trainer and organizer in finnish psycare and harm reduction organization Kotilo. He is also a writer, aguahara-practitioner, volunteering in a terminal care home and has started cognitive brief-therapist and mindfulness teacher trainings. One of his passions is to integrate yogic-lifestyle and a compassionate way of being into modern society. He loves nature, meditation, music, dancing, karate & kobudo and genuine connection with other beings.

Jussi Alihanka
Jussi is from Turku and he is a medical doctor and is specializing in psychiatry. His interest about the healing potential of the non-ordinary states of consciousness comes from his own experiences with different practices. He is currently in the GTT holotropic breathwork facilitator training and also has started the TRE facilitator and MBSR teacher training and Integrative psychotherapy training. Jussi is together with Valde the founder of the Holotropic Finland and is going to work passionately to make this practice more known and more available in Finland. Jussi grounds himself with swimming, climbing, friends, music and nature.

Iida Hokkanen
Iida discovered Holotropic breathwork in 2019 and since then the method has been a significant part of her own healing journey. The safe, loving and empowering breathwork community has felt so much like home that she was inspired to start the holotropic breathwork facilitator training in 2022.
Enabling holistic well being and body-mind-soul coherence for individuals, groups and communities is Iida’s calling. She is a nature connection guide, gives energy healing treatments and will also become certified as a breathwork coach later on in 2023. Her own ways for connecting with her authentic self include exploring voice and movement, doing breathwork and experiencing the nature.
In her daily life Iida is a Human Resource professional, mother of a wonderful 8-year girl and servant to a fluffy and furry dog.

About the teacher

Holotropic Breathwork Finland

Holotropic Breathwork is a powerful method for self-exploration and therapy. It uses enhanced breathing and evocative music to create holotropic states of consciousness, which can be very healing, transformative and informative. Holotropic Breathwork is a self-empowering technique, where you can learn to let go and connect to your Inner healing wisdom. The contents of the sessions are highly individual and usually very meaningful to the breather. The general strategy in the session is to follow whatever is happening spontaneously and expressing it in a way it wants to be expressed. If needed, facilitators can do simple energy releasing bodywork to help the session to move on. To keep it safe and beneficial, the structure of a holotropic workshop is always threefold, each part being equally important: preparation, session and integration. Holotropic Breathwork has been created by Stan and Christina Grof as an alternative for therapy with psychedelics in 1970’s.
